I am the co-owner of Computerease Limited, a 21 year old software firm, specializing in the design, installation and support of Payroll and Human Resource applications for the Health Care Industry. Computerease has added the Fitness Club system to their suite of applications and can draw from an experienced pool of technical people and design expertise to provide support and enhancements to this new product.

When my Sister-In-Law, Cathy, said she intended to open a Ladies Fitness Studio I gave her encouragement, help and any business advice she requested. After she took the training course, provided by the equipment manufacturer, she was not comfortable with the membership software systems that were available for her business. She asked if I could design a simple Membership system that would track members, measurements and visits. I worked at night and on weekends to put together a system that she could use and the basic system was ready when she opened her Silhouette Fitness Studio in September, 2002. After using the system for a couple of months, she kept telling me that there were very few Fitness Club Software packages available like mine and that I should advertise and market it to the fitness industry. After doing the normal Internet searches, I found she was correct. I put up an Internet site and sent out a couple hundred brochures.

The response has been totally unexpected. Within 12 months we sold over 300 copies, all over Canada, the US and Europe. Clients like the simplicity of use which allows even non-computer types to be comfortable with the system.

We like the fact that we can offer the system to clients at an affordable price, without charging a monthly fee to keep it going. And, because it is easy to use, there are very few calls and we can still offer free support to all clients. We get suggestions for enhancements from many clients and like the feeling of working together to build a superior product.
